The Organization's activities

The North East Quality Institute was established in December 1997 for the purpose of creating a compliance monitoring and certification body for Prosciutto di San Daniele, as per Article10 of the EEC regulation number 2081/92. All the professional components of the productive chain for this Dop promote this organization (farming, slaughtering and industrial associations), together with the Consortium for Prosciutto di San Daniele. INEQ has gradually taken over the monitoring of other important products in the sector of the pork meats processing industry. The Institute was authorized by the Ministry of Agricultural and Forestry Policies to perform official monitoring and certification of Prosciutto Veneto-Berico Euganeo, Speck dell'Alto Adige, Mortadella Bologna, Cotechino Modena, and Zampone Modena. INEQ is a non-profit consortium comprised of the Consortium of Prosciutto di San Daniele, ASSICA (Industrial Meat Association) and UNAPROS (National Union of Pork Producers' Associations).
